Mark Hierholzer, Colorist

I am an impressionist oil painter following on the work of Claude Monet and the French Impressionists.  In my painting I try to express the effect of light on color.  For the most part I use a pallet knife.

Many of the techniques used in my painting come from the teaching of Henry Hensche and the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, MA  You can visit the school at www.capeschoolofart.org

Swanquarter Art LLC is my studio and gallery in Swan Quarter, NC.  I do most of my work there. You will find some of my paintings at Island Artworks on Ocracoke Island, the Fredrick Guess Studio in New Orleans, LA and various locations around Richmond, VA.
